More on Yoga and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

A follow up to my post, Yoga Inversions for Chronic Fatigue and Anemia?: I did not realize there was a name for the lightheadedness that you get sometimes with chronic fatigue syndrome. It is called “orthostatic intolerance” or “orthostatic hypotension.” Basically, what that means is that you have low blood volume and you’re not getting enough blood to various extremities, including the brain.

Well, no wonder doing an inversion makes my head feel better. From reading this Q&A on orthostatic intolerance, however, I should be careful to not do it too long or I’m likely to faint. Thankfully my muscles usually give out first.
